Accessibility Assessments for Municipalities

Adaptability Canada specializes in assessments of the physical environment within municipal structures and in public spaces. Our assessments are designed to give you an understanding of where you stand in relation to current and upcoming legislation so that you can better plan your budgets into the coming years.

Each assessment takes into account any applicable elements of the AODA standards that pertain to the physical environment:

  • General Requirements
  • Customer Service Standard
  • Employment Standard
  • Information and Communication Standard

  • Transportation Standard
  • Design of Public Spaces Standard
  • Design of Built Environment Standard (Draft)

In order to give you the most flexible options, Adaptability Canada is able to perform assessments in a variety of options:

  • Single location – building interior/exterior or public space such as a park or playground.
  • Multiple locations – set of public spaces or buildings
  • Department assessment – All properties within the Parks department as an example.
  • Public Spaces Assessment – All playgrounds, parks, trails and/or waterfront.

Our assessment staff is comprised of highly experienced civil engineers and inspectors fully knowledgeable in both AODA standards as well as current Ontario Building Code.
